The AHW National Technical Assistance Program (NTAP) is designed to respond to the needs of both HIV/AIDS housing providers and government representatives who are responsible for planning and implementing AIDS housing and support service policies and programs at the state and local levels. AHW's technical assistance is offered in partnership with the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development's Office of HIV/AIDS Housing and principally funded by the Housing Opportunities for Persons with AIDS (HOPWA) National Technical Assistance Program.

NTAP program activities fall into five primary categories: 1) Needs Assessment and Planning; 2) Hands-on Consultations; 3) Meetings, Trainings, and Conferences; 4) Research and Evaluation; and 5) Publishing and Information Dissemination.

Meetings, Trainings, and Conferences
These include the National HIV/AIDS Housing Conferences, annual meetings of HOPWA Grantees, and numerous state/regional meetings and trainings for AIDS and homeless housing providers, program residents, advocates, and funders. Get more information on upcoming events and links to meeting and conference resources elsewhere on our site.

Research and Evaluation
Current initiatives include the National AIDS Housing Cost Study and an evaluation of The Lyon Building, a program providing permanent housing to multiply diagnosed individuals in Seattle.

Publishing and Information Dissemination
Information dissemination, publishing, and research on key issues in the field of HIV/AIDS housing are core activities of NTAP. Look to this web site as a national information clearinghouse!
